As summer gets underway, construction activities across campus continue to make significant progress. Sitework remains a major focus, with underground utilities now installed to serve the new Classroom and Administration/Media buildings. Stormwater infrastructure on the west side of campus has also advanced considerably, with storm piping and structures installed and connected to the new retention pond located south of the site. Building pads have been completed, and foundation work is now underway, marking another important milestone for the project.
Renovation efforts are also in full swing within Buildings 14, 15, and 16. Planned improvements include interior renovations, rough-in work for upgraded fire alarm, intercom, and IT systems, select door and hardware replacements, plumbing fixture upgrades, new ceiling fans, and minor interior finish enhancements. Exterior improvements will include the installation of new insulated metal roofing systems, fresh exterior paint, and window film to improve both building performance and appearance.
On the north side of campus, sitework activities have begun with demolition of existing asphalt pavement, structures, and the old stormwater outfall at the drop-off loop. This work will prepare the area for installation of new storm structures and piping, helping complete the campus-wide stormwater improvements currently underway on the west side of the site.
To support upcoming phases of construction, two new portable classroom buildings are scheduled for delivery on June 8. These facilities will temporarily accommodate school activities currently housed in Buildings 3 and 7, which are slated for demolition as part of the next phase of the project.
Additional progress is being made in the cafeteria area, where asbestos abatement activities are scheduled to begin next week. Demolition of the existing walk-in cooler and freezer is already underway, preparing the space for future improvements.
With school out for the summer, construction crews are taking advantage of the increased access to campus to accelerate progress and position the project for several key milestones in the months ahead.
