Phase 1 of the Melrose Elementary School Renovation and Addition project is officially underway, marking an exciting step forward in the transformation of the campus. Early work has progressed smoothly, with utility relocation, abatement, and demolition of Building 1 now complete. These efforts have cleared the way for major sitework activities to begin.

Environmental and site protection measures have also been fully implemented, including installation of silt fencing, tree barricades, and inlet protection. With these controls in place, crews have mobilized and sitework operations are actively in progress.

Over the coming weeks, construction will focus on pavement and hardscape demolition, followed by installation of underground utilities including storm, sanitary, domestic water, and fire water systems. Work will also begin on building pads for the new Administration/Media and Classroom additions. In addition, crews will complete retention pond installation and infill to support future development areas.

These milestones represent meaningful progress toward delivering upgraded learning environments and enhanced campus infrastructure for students, staff, and the Melrose community.
